Sending

Two ways to send, and everything that surrounds them.
  • A campaign is one email, one audience, one departure.
  • A sequence is a journey: contacts enter on a trigger and walk it at their own pace.
Both go out against the same balance, under the same rules — a verified domain, a valid sender address, a working unsubscribe link.

Before the first email

Four things must be true, and the sending settings screen shows them as a checklist:
  1. your organization is allowed to send;
  2. a domain is verified and proved;
  3. the sender address book has an address on it;
  4. your balance covers the audience.
Anything missing is named rather than guessed at — why a send is refused lists every case and the one action that clears it.

Who never receives

Three exclusions are applied at departure, not when you pick the audience:
  • unsubscribed contacts;
  • addresses on the suppression list — hard bounces and spam complaints, permanent and organization-wide;
  • people who declined the send's topic.
Which is why the number of emails sent is often lower than the audience you were shown.

After

Every send is logged per recipient. The statistics say what arrived, what was opened and what was clicked — and are honest about what those words can and cannot prove. New contacts arriving through a form pass through sign-up and double opt-in before any of this applies to them.
